Assistant or Associate Professor Physical Education / Adapted Physical Education

The Kinesiology and Health Studies Department at Southeastern Louisiana University invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank available January 2020. Applicants must have a doctorate degree in Physical Education/Kinesiology or closely related field. Desired qualifications include expertise in physical education pedagogy, experience teaching physical education in K-12 schools; university teaching experience; and evidence of scholarly productivity. Expertise in adapted physical education is a plus. To be eligible for this position, candidates must have completed the requirements for the doctoral degree by the deadline for applications.

Instructional responsibilities will support the undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education, and the master’s degree in Health and Kinesiology degree. Anticipated courses to be taught include methods of teaching physical education, measurement/assessment, supervision of student teachers, motor development, and/or adapted physical education. Other duties include advising, providing service to the department, university, and community; and engaging in professional and scholarly activities. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
