New AIESEP Developing Country Scholar Award

We would like to encourage you all to distribute this announcement to all your networks asap for the new AIESEP Developing Country Scholar Award.

The intent of the award is to support a scholar from a developing country to attend the AIESEP conference in June 19-22, 2019 at Adelphi University in New York.

We want to recognize scholarly work from a Developing Country and create stronger connections between AIESEP and developing countries. Eligibility is confined to faculty members located in a developing country. The research to be presented at AIESEP should be grounded in Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy and be situated within a developing country. All researchers from developing countries are encouraged to apply.

Application Process:
Applicants must submit the following documentation, via email, to Ben Dyson at: bpdyson@uncg.edu no later than January 7th 2019.

1. CV
2. One-page description of intention for future involvement in AIESEP Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy research
3. Evidence that a research study was conducted in a developing country, and
4. Copy of abstract submitted to AIESEP Conference website, (https://aiesep2019.adelphi.edu).
5. A letter of recommendation from a senior researcher or an AIESEP member in good standing (scanned).

Obligations:
Those receiving the AIESEP Developing Country Scholar Award will be obligated to
(a) deliver a presentation (oral or poster) at the given AIESEP Congress/Conference and
(b) participate in any events scheduled for AIESEP Developing Country Scholar Award at the given Congress/Conference.

Award details:
Based on the budget one award is available per congress/conference.
The award is intended to partially cover travel costs from a developing country to an AIESEP congress/conference. The value will be approximately $1,500.USD (depending on the exchange rate). The AIESEP Board has agreed to waive the award recipient’s registration fee for the AIESEP conference and one-year membership in AIESEP.
