Tenure-track Position in Physical and Health Education Pedagogy at McGill University (CAN)

McGill University is a world-renowned institution located in the heart of cosmopolitan Montreal and is ranked among the world’s top universities. The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, one of the three academic units of the Faculty of Education, invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, effective August 1, 2023. To qualify, a candidate must hold a doctoral degree in physical and health education pedagogy or a related discipline and should have a strong track record of research publications and some University teaching experience.

The Department is seeking an individual with demonstrated expertise in physical and health education pedagogy. The candidate must have an emerging and/or outstanding research profile demonstrated by excellent publications, national and international conference presentations, and an ability to attract external funding. Candidates, with an active research program in any area related to physical education pedagogy, are encouraged to apply. We particularly welcome applicants with research expertise related to culturally responsive physical education; Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) community experiences in physical education, and/or intersectional approaches that include issues linked to mental health, disability, gender, or other areas of diversity. The candidate will also be expected to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to supervise graduate students in physical and health education pedagogy. The candidate will further be expected to actively contribute service to the institutional and scholarly community as well as to engage with the local professional community. Some successful K-12 physical and health education teaching experience as well as strong interpersonal, social, and communicative skills would be considered important assets. English is the language of instruction at McGill, but knowledge of French is an asset.
