The UNESCO Chair in Basel and Gqeberha – 15 years of collaboration in a nutshell
To mark this year’s World Physical Activity Day, celebrated on April 6, the UNESCO Chair on ‘Physical Activity and Health in Educational Settings‘ has taken stock of the collaborative work between the University of Basel, Switzerland, and the Nelson Mandela University, South Africa, and produced a film that succinctly summarizes the development of this partnership and the Chair’s achievements to date.
The film shows that the project work has continuously expanded, most recently in the form of a collaboration with the Siya Kolisi Foundation, the foundation of the captain of the South African national rugby team and two-time world champion.
It also highlights the commitment to implementing UNESCO’s two pioneering educational programs, `Quality Physical Education’ and `Fit For Life’, particularly in the challenging settings of underresourced schools.
