AIESEP #CoffeeWithColleagues (April 29)

Dear AIESEP Community,

Join us on Friday April 29th at 12pm (noon) Central European Summer Time (CEST) for an AIESEP Connect event titled Trailblazing and way-marking: Possible pathways for Meaningful PE research led by Stephanie Beni, Déirdre Ni Chróinín and Tim Fletcher.

  • Stephanie Beni is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in Oslo, Norway. Her research interests lie primarily in understanding the ways young people experience meaningfulness in physical education and identifying practical tools by which physical education teachers can help to foster meaningful experiences for students. In addition, she enjoys studying her own practice and the process of supporting teachers in their professional learning.
  • Tim Fletcher is Associate Professor in Physical Education at Brock University in Canada. His research interests are in teacher learning and pedagogies for teaching meaningful physical education, often using self-study of teacher education practice methodology to conduct his research. He co-hosts a website and blog focused on pedagogies of meaningful physical education for practitioners.
  • Déirdre Ní Chróinín is a physical education teacher educator at the elementary/ primary level at Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick. Her research focuses on experiences of children and young people in physical education and sport. This has led her to explore self-study and visual methodologies and to pursue pedagogies related to meaningful experiences.

If you are unable to attend, not to worry, it will be recorded and available on the Playing With Research in Health and Physical Education podcast as well as on the AIESEP Website here
