Dear Early Career Researchers,
Please take a moment to read two very important announcements below.
(1) Expression of Interest and Vote for Chair Elect Position. The AIESEP Early Career Researcher (ECR) Special Interest Group is calling all ECRs who wish to express interest in serving as the chair elect of the ECR SIG. Please note the position will entail a one-year term as chair elect, followed by two years as chair and an additional two years as past chair. The chair elect will help to support the ECR SIG pre-conference events and other activities of the SIG. Graduate students are encouraged to consider the role. If you wish to express interest in the chair elect position, please complete the Qualtrix Survey (https://scuau.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_b7NQHkqTwc7A7S6) by January 31, 2026. All ECR SIG members will be provided with the opportunity to vote for the chair elect role in February 2026. More information will follow at that time.
(2) Introduction of the ECR Hour. We are pleased to announce the introduction of ‘ECR Hour’ – a new ECR SIG initiative debuting in 2026. ECR Hour will entail a series of online events, each of which scheduled to accommodate a different time zone. This loosely structured online event will provide an opportunity for ECRs to connect virtually and will be conversational in nature. Examples of discussion topics may include shared experiences of the ECR journey, managing work-life balance, ECR research, etc. More details on the times of these events will be shared on the ECR-SIG LinkedIn Page (https://www.linkedin.com/company/aiesep-early-career-researchers-sig/) and the AIESEP members corner of the ECR SIG and social media channels in the near future.
