AIESEP will host its second PhD Summer School in conjunction with the 2026 AIESEP World Congress in Taipei. This summer school event will take place before and after the main conference and will bring together PhD students from around the globe to learn, share, and connect. Accepted students will gather for a pre-conference session to meet everyone and then attend the AIESEP conference in Taipei. After the conference the accepted students will engage in 3 days of seminars with faculty mentors.
Applications are open with a submission deadline of October 31st, 2025. If you are a PhD student—or know one—who will still be completing their doctoral studies in 2026, we encourage you to begin discussing this exceptional opportunity now.
Following the success of the inaugural AIESEP PhD Summer School held in Jyväskylä, Finland in 2024, the Taipei edition will continue to foster academic growth and professional development. The objectives of the program are to:
- Provide a platform for PhD students in physical education and sport pedagogy to present their research and receive constructive feedback.
- Offer mentorship from leading scholars to help students refine their research questions, methodologies, and academic writing.
- Deliver expert-led sessions on key topics relevant to early-career researchers in physical education and sport pedagogy.
- Cultivate a global network of emerging and established scholars, promoting collaboration and professional growth.
