Coffee and Conversation with Keynotes

Coffee and Conversation slots have been fitted into the programme of AIESEP 2015 in Madrid to enable the delegates to meet some of the physical activity experts. All five of the keynote speakers will be attending and this excellent opportunity will allow you to ask questions and find out more from some of the most important people in physical education and sport participation. This event will take place at 15.00-16.30 on July 10th.
There will only be 30 people per keynote speaker and this is allocated on a first come first serve basis. Reservations should be made at the following email address specifying which keynote you would like to attend: [email protected]

Early Career Academic Networking Lunch 2015

Inspired and informed by the ‘Letters to an Early Career Academic’ symposium at the AIESEP conference in Auckland in 2014, this networking lunch aims to support research higher degree students and early career academics in ‘horizontal networking’- connecting with others in the field who are at similar stages of PhD completion and/or at similar points on the academic ladder. We will not be talking about academic networking during this lunch. We will be networking (and eating!). So please put the day and time in your diary, come along and be prepared to meet and chat to new people who may or may not share your academic interests.

Previous AIESEP Young Scholar Award recipients will facilitate this event.

The event is free of charge and is planned for Thursday, July 9th at 13.00-14.00.

If you want to join this activity contact Eimear Enright at [email protected]

WADA Grants Program Announced

2nd April, 2015

WADA has issued a call for proposals for its 2016 Social Science Research Grant Program after identifying three areas that would benefit from increased scientific knowledge and evidence.

Applicants, who can be from universities, colleges, small businesses, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, are asked to submit proposals on one of the following three areas:

1.  Developing intervention models based on up-to-date research findings
2.  The perception of legitimacy of anti-doping rules and organizations and its effect on athletes’ attitudes and buy-in to anti-doping programs
3.  Understanding deterrence measures for athlete support personnel

Proposals must be submitted no later than 13 July 2015 (00:00 GMT). All submissions will be evaluated by external peer reviewers, whose recommendations will then be examined by WADA’s Working Group and Education Committee before being presented to WADA’S Executive Committee for approval.

WADA will notify all applicants of the results in December 2015.
