7th International Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) Conference

We are really excited about hosting the 7th International Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) conference at the University of Worcester, from the 28th-30th July 2020 and we’d love you to come.

We’re having a great time planning the event and trying to ensure there a great range of top-level academic work and lots of cutting-edge practical content – all of which will appeal to academics, teachers and sports coaches interested in games-based approaches. We’re also really passionate about making this a fun event and showing everyone something of the beautiful city of Worcester.

We’re welcoming the widest range of different types of contribution ever – you could come and speak, deliver a practical, make a video, do 5 slides in 5 minutes – or something else! All the details are on the conference webpage.

If you come, you’ll hear keynote addresses from Professors Linda Griffin, Stephen Harvey, Daniel Memmert and Jean Cóté – as good as it gets huh? On top of that, Dave Bunker and Rod Thorpe (founders of TGfU) are going to be coming too.

The overarching academic themes are inclusivity, integration and implementation. We’ve lined-up some of the major organisations and NGBs in the UK to come and showcase what they are doing – the Football Association is going to run a whole day of activity on the 27th July called ‘TGfU – A Football Perspective: An inclusive approach from the FA’, Sport England is coming to talk about their support for the Boing project (games-based physical literacy) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will be showcasing its work in disability cricket. We’ve got more to be announced very soon!

So get an abstract together and get it submitted by the 18th December 2019! Don’t miss out – see you there!

Don Vinson, TGfU2020
