The successful candidate will have a terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D.) in physical education, adapted physical education, curriculum and instruction or related areas. Candidates should show evidence of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. Courses that may be taught by the candidate include, but are not limited to, undergraduate and graduate courses in the following areas: elementary and secondary pedagogy for physical education, inclusion/adapted physical education, motor development & assessment, supervision of teaching field experiences and/or other core major requirements. Undergraduate and graduate advising within the health and physical education program will also be required. We seek candidates with a strong, well-defined research agenda in their area of specialization. Candidates should demonstrate a record of publication and the potential for external funding. In addition to teaching and research responsibilities, candidates are expected to contribute to the service mission of the university through departmental, university, community, and professional service.
