ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College (MLFTC) and the Division of Teacher Preparation invites applications for Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Physical Education, for the 2023-2024 academic year. The successful candidates(s) will teach online and/or in-person courses at our Polytechnic and/or Tempe campuses, prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students. The Physical Education program welcomes applications from candidates who can bring diversity of thought from their personal experiences with race, ability, gender, language, etc.

As such, the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, partners with schools and organizations to:
- Provide all students with deeper and personalized learning by building teams of educators with distributed expertise; and
- Empower educators by developing new opportunities for role-based specialization and advancement.
Essential Duties:
- Teaching selected undergraduate PETE courses, on campus and/or online,
- Grading and managing course Canvas pages,
- Establishing warm and supportive relationships with students through class, office hours, emails, meetings, etc,
- Promoting excellence, equity and diversity,
- Demonstrating a commitment to principled innovation, and
- Providing service to the division, college and/or university.
Required Qualifications: - Masters Degree in Physical Education or related area
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience in Physical Education (grades K-12)
Desired Qualifications: - Terminal degree in Physical Education or related area
- Minimum 2 semesters teaching Physical Education Teacher Education courses at the university level
- Experience planning and/or implementing curriculum at least once (in any learning context)
- At least one example of learning (e.g., coursework, professional development, trainings) in issues of equity (racial, dis/ability) in educational contexts
- At least one semester of experience using course management systems such as Canvas or Blackboard and digital tools like Zoom
