Human beings have always demonstrated their ability to adapt to the constraints imposed by their physical and human environment and their creativity is at the root of culture Games, sports, and bodily practices in general provide an excellent living laboratory for observing and questioning the exercise of creativity, which pervades the whole universe of sports and games. Indeed, institutions and organizations keep changing; actors co-construct original answers to new problems; practitioners make hitherto unseen moves. Whether they stem from individual actions, relations, organizations or equipment, innovations – understood as products of creativity that are endowed with actual or potential value – abound. This conference is aimed at exploring and describing the creativity that emerges from bodily activities, be they oriented towards education, health or performance, in order to deepen our understanding of its mechanisms.
