Graduate Assistantship available teaching sports in prison setting

How would you like the chance to make a difference with youth in an extremely unique setting? For the past year, we have been running a sport leadership program for incarcerated male youth in a maximum-security prison setting focused on building life skills and lifetime fitness behaviors. We are looking for a graduate student to fill the role of a program coach. If this interests you, consider pursuing a graduate degree (master’s or doctoral) at Northern Illinois University and seek out this graduate assistantship position working in Project FLEX (Fitness Leadership EXperience). Students interested in careers within sport-based youth development, physical education, sport management, or criminal justice are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to individuals seeking a graduate degree within the Department of Kinesiology.

Interested students should visit the NIU website for program requirements (https://cedu.niu.edu/knpe/academic-programs/kinesiology-and-physical-education.shtml) and also contact Dr. Zachary Wahl-Alexander (zwahlalexander@niu.edu) for information about the potential GA position.
