Lecturer Posistion in HPE
The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Lecturer in the area of Health and Physical Education (HPE)/Sport Pedagogy, to begin August 1, 2026. The Department seeks to hire a motivated faculty member with teaching experience across a variety of HPE and sport coaching-related courses. The Department is open to applicants from a variety of specializations, including, but not limited to, teacher education and sport coaching education.
Responsibilities:
• Teach undergraduate and graduate HPE and sport pedagogy classes (face-to-face) within the current program curriculum. The teaching load consists of seven three-credit sections (21 credit hours) across the academic year.
• Supervise physical education teacher candidates in student teaching placements.
• Provide high-quality educational assistance to individual students.
• Contribute to service activities at the program, department, college, and university levels, when requested.
• Provide programmatic, technological, and pedagogical support to the PEDB Program.
Required Qualifications:
• An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Health & Physical Education, Sport Pedagogy, Kinesiology, or a closely related field of study by the start date of the position.
• Ability to effectively teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in the current HPE/Sport Pedagogy curriculum.
• Demonstrated communication, organizational, and technological skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Evidence of extensive professional background in college/university teaching.
• Evidence of ability to establish and cultivate partnerships with local schools and school districts.
• Evidence of innovative professional teaching methods.
• Ability to demonstrate strong evidence of, and commitment to, teaching excellence and student learning.
