November 7th-9th, 2014
The 2014 AIESEP Specialist Seminar took place in Timisoara, Romania, on November 7-9 2014. Although AIESEP has been communicating and disseminating research and applied research related to the professional activity of sport and physical education since 1962, the concept of a specialist seminar is relatively new to the Association. Following from the second specialist seminar held at the University of Birmingham in 2012, which focused on sport pedagogy, the 2014 specialist seminar, the fourth of its kind, built on the concept of sport pedagogy which encompasses a broad range of professional sites that can be informed by the field.
Historically, the focus of AIESEP’s research activities has been physical education and physical education teacher education. This seminar aimed to allow networks to be built and research collaborations to be formed between members of these core AIESEP disciplines and members of related areas such as those engaged in educating professionals for the outdoor, leisure and fitness industries in order to share knowledge and gain an appreciation of our common goals.
