The use of digital technologies in education, coaching, and health promotion is rapidly expanding, which raises critical questions about how we teach, learn, train, coach, and advocate in a digital world. From AI and online learning to wearables and telehealth, these technologies are not simply add-ons. They are transforming the landscape of health and physical education, physical activity and health promotion, and sport pedagogy.

The AIESEP Digital Technologies for Teaching, Learning, and Health Promotion Special Interest Group (Tech SIG for short) provides a global platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to critically explore, share, and shape the use of digital technologies for teaching, learning and health promotion across professions and contexts.

Our Mission

Our Tech SIG mission is to provide community minded spaces for AIESEP members to share, learn about, and celebrate good research, engage in critical discourse, participate in professional development, and nurture international collaborations related to the roles and applications of digital technologies in health & physical education (HPE), health & physical activity promotion, sport pedagogy, and health and physical education teacher education (HPETE).

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to advance knowledge and critical understanding of the roles and applications of digital technologies within diverse HPE, health & physical activity promotion, sport pedagogy, and HPETE contexts through critical discourse, rigorous research, and interdisciplinary and international collaborations. We intend to support educative movement experiences through the expansion and enhancement of inclusive and equitable opportunities for physical activity and health.

Our Goals Through 2035
