Tenure Track Professorship at the University of Graz, Austria

At the Department of Human Movement Science, Sport and Health at the Faculty of Environmental, Regional and Educational Sciences, the University of Graz is seeking to appoint a Tenure Track Professor of School Sports Research and Sports Pedagogy (40 hours per week).

Initially the successful candidate starts as an Assistant Professor with a qualification agreement for a fixed term tenure phase of six years. After successful completion of the qualification goals the position will be converted into a permanent Associate Professor position in accordance with the Salaried Employees Act (AngG). Expected starting date December 1st 2024).

The professorship is intended to be responsible for and strengthen research and teaching in the field of human movement and sports pedagogy. It is dedicated to sports pedagogy topics and issues with a special focus on empirical school sports research and sports-didactic research. This addresses the important field of sports pedagogy in the context of human movement and sports as well as the professionalisation of prospective teachers in this field.

A connection to existing research core areas of the department (diversity, body, health, digitality) is preferable.

In teaching, the professorship will be responsible for the field of human movement and sports pedagogy in the teacher training programme on “Physical Education” as well as in the bachelor, master and doctoral programmes on “Sport and Exercise Science”.
