One of the most important documents that UNESCO has issued is the International Charter of Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport that aims to support and orient policy decision making in sport. The International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE), has been collaborating closely with UNESCO for a number of years in making sure the views of the academic and sport communities are represented in international physical education, physical activity and sport policies and programmes.
Since there has been no research on the awareness and usage of the Charter, ICSSPE aims to remedy this with a world-wide survey of sport and academic organizations.
